Fishing in Charlotte Harbor has been excellent this week, with snook action leading the way. Redfish are feeding close to the bushes, with pinfish proving to be the top bait choice. There’s been plenty of shark activity, along with a few flounder in the mix. Speckled trout are hitting well on the deeper grass flats in 3–5 feet of water, making for steady light-tackle action.

Tarpon are still around, especially along the West Wall, and we landed a solid 60-pound fish this week. Offshore, permit have started to show, and a few kingfish in the 15–20 pound range have been making appearances, offering great late-summer variety.
Until next time, tight lines!
