Reel Sharp Fishing Report – Dec 7, 2025

Fishing in December

Current Conditions

A strong cold front recently moved through the area, dropping water temperatures and pushing fish out of open water and into more protected zones.

Canals, docks, walls, and grass flats have been holding the most consistent action as fish look for warmth and stable conditions.

Winds have made exposed water tougher at times, but inshore areas have continued to fish well. Live shrimp has been the most productive bait across nearly all locations.

Fishing Overview

Post cold front patterns are fully set up, and anglers willing to adjust locations are being rewarded.

PGI canals are loaded with structure fish, the walls are producing steady action on roaming species, and the grass flats are holding good numbers of trout, including some quality fish.

Shrimp continues to be the top bait, whether fished free-lined, under popping corks, or around structure.

Overall, the inshore bite has been steady with a solid mix of species available.

PGI Canals

The canals have been one of the best producers since the temperature drop.

Good action has been coming from jacks, black drum, and sheepshead, which are holding tight to seawalls and structures.

Live shrimp and cut bait have both been effective, especially when fished slowly along docks and pilings.

These protected waters have been a great option when the winds are up.

Speackled Trout fishing

East Wall

The east wall has been full of large schools of ladyfish, providing fast-paced action. Fish have been aggressively hitting plugs as well as live shrimp.

This area has been a reliable stop for steady bites and light tackle fun, especially during moving water.

Dock Snook Bite

Snook activity has been showing up around docks, mostly smaller fish, but consistent enough to target.

Live shrimp have been the best bait, worked tight to dock edges and shadow lines.

Early morning and late afternoon have been the most productive windows for snook around structure.

West Wall and Bar Area

Pompano and cobia have been roaming the bar and along the west wall, giving anglers a chance at quality fish.

Redfish have also been mixed in, holding in the bushes and creek mouths along the west wall.

Shrimp fished slowly near the bottom has been the best approach, especially around moving water.

Bull Bay Grass Flats

Bull Bay has been holding plenty of trout, with larger fish moving onto the grass flats.

Shrimp under popping corks has been the most consistent setup and continues to produce both numbers and size.

Working the edges of grass in slightly deeper water has been especially productive.
