We’re kicking off September with solid action across Charlotte Harbor and nearshore waters.
Inshore
Redfish have been pushing up under the mangroves on the West Wall in good numbers, often mixed in with Snook. Sea Trout fishing has been strong in 5 to 8 feet of water, especially when drifting with popping corks rigged with live shrimp or whitebait. Ladyfish and Spanish Mackerel are active along the outer edges of the bar in 8 to 10 feet.

There are still a few Tarpon hanging around, and we’re also seeing some Pompano and Jack Crevalle show up in the mix. Shark activity remains high, with lots of 2 to 5 ft fish cruising throughout the harbor.
As fall approaches, expect Redfish to begin schooling up more consistently—smaller schools have already been reported.
Offshore
Snapper fishing has been productive in 60 to 90 feet of water, and there have been a few reports of Mahi-Mahi starting to show up as well.
Until Next Time!
