The fall fishing continues to impress here in Charlotte Harbor! Both snook and redfish have been biting consistently this week, with the majority of action coming on live pilchards fished along the mangrove edges and points.
In the center of the harbor, large schools of Spanish mackerel have been putting on a show—crashing through bait pods of threadfin herring. For anglers targeting the bigger mackerel, gold spoons and live threadfins have been the top producers.

Closer to shore, redfish have been feeding aggressively on live shrimp around the oyster bars in Turtle Bay, while the mangrove snapper bite has remained strong in the residential canals near Punta Gorda, also on live shrimp.
With cooler mornings and active fish across the harbor, it’s a great time to be on the water.
